I go down to the hardware store and purchase a length of RIGID 1/2 in copper pipe. It has no seams and is extremely smooth and as you shoot it, it polishes the inside bore.

I also purchase a piece of 1/2 inch PVC coupler, on one end it is made to slide onto 1/2 in PVC and the other is 3/4 pipe thread and with a little filing and sanding it makes a perfect mouth piece.

For darts I buy a pack of those little red marker flags like the surveyors use along side the road, I cut them into 6 inch lengths and file a point on one end and on the other end I ruff the side with the file about 1/4 of the end, I then apply strong glue and then take a small piece of cotton and rap it around the glue and let it set up.

For a flite [?] I take one of those paper coned shaped drinking cups, like you see on the side of those jugs of water in the office and I cut about 2 inches off the bottom. Then I stick this in the barrel and draw a line around it with a pencil and cut it more precisely to fit.

I then stick the pointed end of the dart threw the center of the cone and slide it toward the cotton,  then apply more model airplane glue to the cotton and slide the cone all the way to the cotton, leaving the 1/4 inch of dart with the cotton on it setting inside the cone.

I then stick it upright and let it dry over night. Next morning I take a piece of fine sandpaper and sand the top of the cone to fit the pipe perfectly.

To facilitate this fitting process I cut a 1/2 inch piece of pipe off the end of the blowgun and pill the dart down threw this to insure perfect fit, making sure all ends are smooth and burr free. This will be one of the fastest, hard hitting,  accurate, blowpipes you have ever shot.

I am now 54 and have been making these for over 30 Yrs for myself and friends, I have ventured beyond this to more intricate dart making but this version is very reliable and works well. I hope this is of interest to you!
