Over the Hill
|
|
By Dan BeardThis is a Yankee form of Tag or Black Man, and is played with two homes, or goals, with Lil or "It" in the middle. The players line up, half at each goal, with Lil in the middle, on the battleground. At the cry of "Lil! Lil! Over the hill!" the players make a wild rush, the boys on each side doing their best to reach the opposite side without being caught, while "It" uses his best endeavors to capture one or more of the players before they can gain their goal. To make a capture, he must slap his captive three times on the back. All captives help Lil to catch their free comrades until all are caught. The first one caught is "It" for the next game. OHB |
