Log Cabin or Shelter: a great project for a crisp autumn day or for early spring. The
Scouts may build a permanent winter camp for use when severe weather comes. |

Bridge Building: as good a project for autumn or spring
as for summer. |

Trail Clearing: this can be carried on in winter, although, of
course, the ground cannot be graded while it is muddy or frozen. |

Trail Marking: winter is the time to mark trails through the woods, when the intervening
foliage is gone and short cuts and beauty points can be noted. Tack
reflective metal or plastic to the trees. |

Igloo or Quinzee Building: if the weather man sends snow and the Scouts have time, they will find
it fun to build an igloo such as Eskimos live in. Quinzees and Polar Domes
can be built from a wider range of snow types. |

Snow Sculpture: encourage the boys to develop their skill with snow statuary, beautiful or humorous. |
