If you are thinking of acting bits from the " Jungle
Book " you could perhaps take three scenes and either get
someone to read extracts (perhaps you heard Stephen Jack
reading Mowgli's Brothers  in the Cub broadcast in
" Jamboree ") while the Cubs mimed the scene, or condense the wording.
Say that you took these scenes:
Scene I:  The woodcutters' fire--Mowgli and Shere Khan
and Mother Wolf (perhaps Raksha and
family?).
Scene II: Mowgli taught by Baloo.
Scene III: The end part of Mowgli's Brothers.
As regards songs you could perhaps begin with " Camp
Fire's Burning " and also have " From Out the Council
Circle " in Scene I. Then, in Scene II, the song " The
Law of the Jungle " and the variation of the Baloo Dance.
Scene III might include the yell " For the risk and the riot
of night " and finish with " Day is Ending ".
Tune: London's Burning
Camp Fire's Burning,
Camp Fire's Burning,
Draw Nearer,
Draw Nearer.
In the gloaming,
In the gloaming,
Come sing and be merry.
Tune: " From out the Battered Elm Tree ".
From out the Council Circle Akela's voice we hear,
And from the distant forest the Wolf Cub answers
clear,
"Ah-whoo, ah-whoo, ah-whoo-oo-oo-oo-oo,
Ah-whoo, ah-whoo, ah-whoo-oo-oo-oo-oo."
Yell: (From " Second Jungle Book "-" Red Dog
ff.
For the risk and the riot of the night

(loudly-snappily-rolling " r's " well)
pp. For the sleep at the lair mouth by day (nodding)
fff. It is met: (the leader alone says this)
ff. And we go to the fight (all-very slowly)
ff. Bay! O bay! (lifting up heads-howling).
Tune: " Frere Jacques ".
Day is ending.
Night descending,
Jungle play
Ends to-day,
We shall soon be sleeping
Stars at us are peeping,
So good-night,
So good-night.
