1. Demonstrate how to choose, prepare and ventilate a sickroom. 

2. Know how to bath a patient and give medicine. Demonstrate how to take a temperature, pulse and respiration. 

3. Complete all the following: 
(i) Demonstrate how to prepare invalid food; 
(ii) Know how to prevent pressure sores; 
(iii) Show how to use commodes, backrests and other such equipment. 
(iv) Show how to make a bed with a patient in it, including changing sheets and arranging pillows. 
(v) Show how to help a patient to get up and sit in a chair. Help the patient to dress and move around the room or house. 

4. Demonstrate how to prepare dressings and how to apply a roller bandage to hand, knee and foot. 

5. Carry out all the above under camp conditions (as well as in a sickroom) & know how to prepare a rest tent. A person who holds either: British Red Cross Junior Nursing Certificate, St John's Ambulance Preliminary Certificate in Home Nursing or the St Andrew's Ambulance Association Junior Certificate in Home Nursing qualifies for this badge. 

MISSIONER is an under 15 Scout proficiency badge and a requirement for the over 15 PUBLIC HEALTH badge.
