A small informal body and in no sense a counterpart of the Troop Court of Honour - ideally it meets in Akela's house and should meet regularly, probably once a month.

A Sixer is a Cub in charge of a Six; not a junior Patrol Leader. They should only be given actual responsibility in Leading and instructing under the direct supervision of an Old Wolf.

Should be capable of the following responsibilities:

For Sixer to lead, they must be 'in-front'.

This can be achieved in two main ways; one by judiciously increasing their status in the eyes of the Pack without increasing the size of their head; the other is by ensuring they are technically better than the rest of the Pack. Sixers - and Seconds - should be appointed by Akela, not elected by the Pack or Six.

STATUS OF SIXERS achieved in several ways. Minor Duties, etc.., as above are deputed to them. They attend SIXERS' COUNCIL. This consist of all Old Wolves, Sixers and in small Packs possibly Seconds. Cub Instructors not necessarily members.

It's function is to try out new games, to make suggestions about Pack activities, expeditions, etc.., and to receive instructions from the Old Wolves.

Important both sides realise that Sixers' Council is purely advisory; it takes no decisions. All decisions are taken by Akela, after hearing what the Council has to say: but such decisions may be in spite of, rather than, because of the Council, and they must learn to accept this cheerfully.

Considerable character training value is in this state of affairs. It is a great mistake to try to saddle Sixers with the responsibility of making decisions. That will come, with time, in the Troop.
