Walk one unbroken mile a day, outdoors (not track walking) for 60 successive days, for coup. 120 days for grand coup.

Take a hike of not less than 4 miles once a week for 20 consecutive weeks, for coup. Same for 40 weeks, for grand coup.

Walk 5 miles a day for 5 successive days and make a sketch or photograph of some interesting natural object or view each day, for coup. Walk 5 miles a day for 10 successive days, making sketch or photograph as above, for grand coup.

Take 12 hikes in 12 months (one in each month), covering in all not less than 60 miles, minimum of 2 miles on one hike, and learning to know and identify unquestionably a total of 25 specimens from the following groups, for coup. For grand coup, learn to know 50 specimens.

Non-flowering plants
Birds
Mammals
Reptiles
Insects
Spiders
Amphibians
Crustacea
Fishes
Other sea animals
Tracks of animals
Minerals
Rocks
